One-on-One vs. Groups.

I knew there was a reason I was never fond of groups of friends. I've almost always consistently stuck with one on one friends only. But being in grad school pretty much forces you to find a group of friends...whether it's to study with or just because I'm in a new place and I need people. But we kind of have people who are bumping heads in our group of friends right now and it's really annoying me...it's the last thing I need, I have higher priorities. I hate having to worry about not appearing to side with one person more than the other...especially when its with people who are needy and need attention. You think cliques are a thing of the past that got left behind with high school? Think again...they come back in full force in grad school. Lame.
Superbowl was fun...we had this potluck where people made some amazing food, really the way potlucks SHOULD be done. None of this chips and desserts only business. And I hung out with a group where the majority of people were there to watch the game and not to get drunk and obnoxious.
A text from Thai regarding our little San Francisco trip in two weeks: "I won $40 on a $2 square! We just got upgraded from hot dogs to cheeseburgers for San Francisco!"
I love that guy. He makes me smile ALL the time.
